4-Day Sculpting a Figure Workshop (June)

Course Description

This 4-day workshop is ideal for artists of all levels who are passionate about exploring figurative sculpture. Whether you are a novice looking to learn the basics or an advanced sculptor aiming to refine your technique, this workshop offers a comprehensive and enriching experience. In this workshop you will sculpt a 60cm high standing figure (1/3 life-size) in clay, working by observation from a life model. You will learn:- - How to adjust the armature (provided) according to the pose. - How to add clay to the armature to create the basic shapes. - How to establish the correct proportions. - Some basic anatomy and to observe muscle structure and bone alignment. - Techniques for creating surface texture. Andrian will also be creating a figure to demonstrate his own approach and you will learn about the work of other figurative sculptors. With no more than 7 participants, you can be sure to receive personalised feedback and guidance at each stage of the process. Clay and an armature are provided and included in the price so you will be able to take your work home with you at the end of the course.
